We are refinancing, which means we are getting an appraisal, which means we did some cleaning and patching. We bought this house four years ago and put two years of sweat-equity into it. Then, we refinanced, and hired Joshua Calderone to do major work, which got completed (minus finishing) right before COVID hit. Then we spent the last year and a half surviving a pandemic. Now, with low interest rates, we are refinancing and hope to get some more work done! Which means we have photos to given an update.
Some rooms are still unfinished. They need patched, painted, etc. We have many rooms where the trim is unfinished, but I wanted to share photos anyways. 🙂
Of all the rooms, my favorite is our sitting room, so I will start here.
Here’s what it looked like when we bought it four years ago:

Next Up: Downstairs bathroom/utlity room
This was originally insane. There was a bathroom, up a ramp with a shower just sitting in the utility room.

This isn’t done, but we did get this rearranged. Still needs finishing.

Ok, next up: upstairs living room:

We removed a wall and now this is out go-to in the evenings.

Next up, bathroom and “extra space”. Originally there was a room you had to walk through to get to the master bedroom, and in that room, included an entrance to the bathroom.
Here’s what it looked like.

We rearranged this, adding an upstair laundry room, hallway, and bathroom that connects to the living room and master bedroom.

Next up: Master bedroom

Along with adding an entrance to the bathroom, we added a closet to the bedroom.

Next up, Finn’s room!

Here, we got new carpet, painted, and exposed/painted the brick as an accent.

Finally, outside!
Here’s what the listing looked like.

Here’s what we did with it—It needs a lot more work! We want new siding, a couple porches, and possibly change a few of the outside doors. But here is where it’s at so far.
After (unfinished)
That’s it! It’s a work-in-progress, and if the appraisal goes well, we will have another chunk of money to put back into it.
